The role of attachment style in the tendency to substance abuse: Investigating the mediating role of Sense of coherence

The purpose of this research was to investigate the role of attachment style in substance abuse tendency toward mediating role of Sense of coherence. The method of the research was correlation with the method of structural equation modeling. The research community included students of Farhangian University of Shahid Beheshti Campus of Mashhad in the academic year 1397-1396. 400 students (311 male students and 89 female students) were selected as sample by stepwise cluster sampling. Information was collected with tendency to addiction questionnaires (Mirhasami, 2009), attachment style (Hazen and shover, 1987) and Sense of coherence (Antonovsky, 1987). Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient and structural simulation modeling using SPSS 18 software and 21 AMOS software. The results indicated that Sense of coherence plays a mediator role in the relationship between attachment style and drug use tendency. Also, fit indices are accepted in domains. According to these materials, the final model of research is fit.
